TandemParty

Watch series together

A series isn't finished in one evening, and that changes what a watch-together tool has to do. TandemParty keeps the episode in sync for everyone, picks up the switch to the next one on its own, and remembers where you stopped so you can carry on a week later.

What matters for a series specifically

  • The episode switches for everyone

When someone starts the next episode, everyone else moves to it automatically. No dictating episode numbers into chat and waiting for people to catch up.

  • The room remembers the timecode

You got halfway through and went your separate ways — come back a week later on the same link and pick up from the same spot. The room does not reset.

  • Talking doesn't interrupt watching

Chat and reactions sit next to the video, with no switching to a messenger. On a phone the chat folds away so it never eats the screen.

How to watch a series together

Setup takes a couple of minutes and happens once — after that the room opens on the same link.

  1. 1

    Install the extension

Add TandemParty to Chrome, Edge, Yandex Browser or another Chromium browser and sign in.

  2. 2

    Start an episode

Open the series on your streaming service and start the episode the way you normally would.

  3. 3

    Send the link

Create a room from the extension and send the link to whoever is watching with you.

  4. 4

    Watch and talk

Pause and seek apply to everyone. Need to stop — just close the tab, the room keeps your place.

Where the series are

These services need the extension: playback happens on the streaming site itself, and every participant needs their own subscription.

Frequently asked questions about watching series together

Install the TandemParty extension once, open an episode on your streaming service and create a room, which gives you a link. Your friend opens it, and from then on pause, seek and episode changes apply to both of you at the same moment.

The change is picked up automatically: when the next episode starts, everyone else follows. Anyone who joins the room later lands on whichever episode is playing now.

Yes. The room remembers the timecode: open the same link and carry on from where you stopped. No hunting for the episode and scrubbing back to the right minute.

Kinopoisk, ivi, Okko, Wink, Premier, KION, Start, Amediateka, Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max and Crunchyroll — these need the extension. YouTube, VK Video and RuTube play right on the site, with nothing installed.

For series on streaming services, yes, everyone: the video plays on the service's own site. The extension runs in Chrome, Edge, Yandex Browser and other Chromium browsers.

Two on the free plan, up to fifteen on Premium. The room owner counts as a participant too.
