# TandemParty

> TandemParty is a browser extension for watching movies and shows together with friends in real-time sync. Playback (play, pause, seek) stays synchronized for everyone in a room, with live text chat and reactions over the video. TandemParty does not host or provide any content — it only synchronizes playback, and every participant watches on their own account on a supported streaming service.

Key facts:

- Type: browser extension for Chrome, Yandex Browser, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers. There is no separate mobile app; a phone can be used as a remote control via a QR code shown in the browser.
- Account: required. Registration takes under a minute (email + one-time code).
- Room size: up to 2 participants on the free plan, up to 15 on Premium.
- Core features: synchronized play/pause/seek, in-room text chat, reactions (Premium), phone-as-remote via QR code, and resuming from the room's saved timecode.
- Languages: Russian, English, German, Spanish. Localized pages use the `/en/`, `/de/`, `/es/` path prefixes; unprefixed URLs are the Russian (default) versions and serve as canonical.
- Not a content provider: TandemParty synchronizes playback only. Each participant must independently have access to the chosen streaming service and its content.
